Sofia Lambrou is a Greek-Spanish visual and sound artist based in Paris, working between Paris, Bethlehem, and Berlin. She is an artist-in-residence at the Wonder (Paris) and the Wonder Cabinet (Bethlehem), where she co-founded a community photography lab. She is also a radio host on LYL Radio and Radio alHara with her bi-monthly residency L’anabase, under her alias Glisten. The show takes the form of a sonic research notebook, blending oral narratives, field recordings, musical compositions, and contemporary music to document her artistic research.
She began by photographing bodies in motion within nightlife environments, gradually shifting her focus to movement constrained by restriction and displacement. Sofia is interested in the traces movement leaves on memory and landscape. Taking as a starting point gestures or movements restricted by geopolitical fractures, she weaves together narratives, sounds, images, and artifacts to restore a sense of mobility to frozen figures. Her practice is rooted in research and immersion, intertwining the languages of documentary and fiction. She explores the role of orality, materiality, and myth in the dissemination of images, which she approaches as spaces of mediated dialogue.Deeply influenced by ecofeminist thought, her work frequently engages with the female figure, body representation, and the living.
Rooted in immersion, each of her projects emerges from encounters, rituals, and collective experiments that seek to reconcile what has been fragmented, creating a form of ubiquity between the places and subjects studied. Her research calls upon the ghosts of the past to reconcile them with the present, adopting the role of a researcher-storyteller. Starting from a reality composed of fragments, she assembles them through collective songs and gestures to create geopoetic spaces where new myths and rituals are brought into being.

Sofia Lambrou est une photographe-plasticienne et artiste sonore gréco-espagnole vivant à Paris et travaillant entre Paris, Bethléem et Berlin.Elle est artiste résidente au Wonder (Paris) et au Wonder Cabinet (Bethléem), où elle a co-créé un laboratoire photographique communautaire. Elle est également animatrice radio sur LYL Radio et Radio alHara avec sa résidence bimensuelle L’anabase, sous son alias Glisten. L’émission prend la forme d’un carnet de bord sonore, mêlant récits oraux, captations de terrain, compositions musicales et musiques actuelles pour documenter sa recherche artistique.
Elle commence par photographier le corps en mouvement dans les milieux de la nuit, pour progressivement axer sa recherche sur le thème du mouvement contraint par la restriction et le déplacement.Sofia s’intéresse à la trace laissée par le mouvement sur la mémoire et le paysage. Prenant comme point de départ le geste ou le mouvement contraint par la fracture géopolitique, elle tisse ensuite un ensemble de récits, de sons, d’images et d’artefacts qui restituent une forme de mobilité aux figures figées. Sa pratique s’ancre dans la recherche et l’immersion et mêle les langages du documentaire et de la fiction. Elle explore le rôle de l’oralité, de la matérialité et du mythe dans la dissémination des images qu’elle approche comme des espaces de dialogues interposés. Imprégnée des courants écoféministes, la figure féminine, la représentation du corps et le vivant sont des sujets récurrents dans ses recherches.
Prenant corps dans l’immersion, chaque travail est le fruit de rencontres, de rituels et d’expérimentations collectives qui tentent de réconcilier ce qui a été fragmenté, en créant une forme d’ubiquité entre les lieux et sujets étudiés. Ses recherches convoquent les fantômes du passé pour les réconcilier avec le présent, avec une approche de chercheuse-compteuse. Prenant comme point de départ une réalité faite de fragments, qui, par des chants et gestes collectifs s’assemblent pour former dees espaces de dialogues géopoétiques où sont mis au monde de nouveaux mythes et rites.
